Spread Joy This Veterans Day: Join the ‘Send A Smile’ Initiative

Wishing you a joyful Veterans Day from all of us at Malibu Elixir! As we honor those who have served, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on the beauty of community and selflessness. Today, we celebrate not only our veterans but also the young hearts making a difference in our world. One such inspiring individual is Brianna Stutesman, a remarkable girl who embodies the spirit of kindness and connection.

Meet Brianna: A Young Philanthropist

Brianna caught our attention through her touching entry in the “How I Spent My Family Vacation” contest hosted on Facebook. Accompanied by a heartfelt photo, her story unfolded during a visit to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where she warmly welcomed six soldiers home from deployment in Afghanistan. This emotional reunion wasn’t just a day of celebration; it was the culmination of a year filled with letters and love.

Brianna’s mother, Leigh, shared an inspiring update after Brianna’s win. Here’s a glimpse into their journey:

“She spent a year writing those six soldiers, only knowing her cousin. Recently, she’s even adopted three new soldiers, sending them weekly letters and monthly care packages. We bought her address labels and thank you cards through your site. It’s always about fun for her, not a chore. The soldiers have expressed how much her letters mean to them, and she’s committed to this project as long as there are deployed soldiers who need support.”

“Bri’s Project Send A Smile”

Brianna took her mission further by launching “Bri’s Project Send A Smile.” This initiative gathers letters and care packages for soldiers she corresponds with, fostering a sense of connection and gratitude. You can witness her journey and see updates on this lovely project through her Facebook page.

Each week, Brianna writes six letters and sends thank you cards to donors, emphasizing the importance of gratitude in her efforts. However, postage costs can add up, totaling over $200 monthly for just a handful of soldiers. As the community rallies around her, any support—be it financial or materials for care packages—is immensely appreciated.
