In stark contrast, Clive, 16, describes a markedly different outlook in New Jersey, where discussions of therapy are less common. “It just isn’t a normal topic here,” he confessed. His support network derives from conversations with friends and family. “I’m lucky to be surrounded by people who are open to talking about these things,” Clive said.

Meanwhile, Carson, 18, highlights ongoing stigmas, particularly among boys. “There’s this perception that reaching out is a weakness,” he shared. However, his own therapy experience has debunked this myth for him. “Reaching out is one of the most courageous things you can do. You’ll feel happier, and ultimately, it allows you to be the best version of yourself for those around you,” he noted.
